NEWS FROM TERRY  -  20th May 2011

It is now exactly a year since Mo made the move to Sandown Park Care Home in Windsor.  It is a beautiful place with excellent care.  Mo has little awareness of what is going on around her or the identity of her visitors, but she is very happy in herself.  It has been a very hard year for me with major emotional and practical adjustments.
Now I am no longer able to be Mo's full-time carer I am using the time to reorganise my life.

Since handing over the leadership of Jubilee Church to Stuart I have become part of River Church, Maidenhead, but almost all of my new spheres of service are beyond the walls of the Church - which is where my heart has always been.

Here is what I am doing to pursue the vision of 'Fuego'
1) Chaplain to Maidenhead Fire Station
2) Chaplain to The Compleat Angler Hotel, Marlow
3) Psychotherapist working with my local GP Surgery specialising in Trauma Incident Reduction Therapy
4) Visiting bereaved families and conducting funerals
5) Continuing to support our friends in Sierra Leone through visiting teams and financial gifts
6) For recreation I have joined a Community Choir, I can often be seen in the gym and I have taken up art for relaxation.  I am also about to train for my license as a skydiver !!!!!!

Welcome to 'FUEGO'

In January 2005 after leading Jubilee Community Church in Maidenhead for almost 20 years, Terry Murphy was lying in hospital with a very serious form of Lymphoma Cancer, and his wife Mo had just been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.  After two months in hospital Terry had lost 60lb and was sent home with very little hope of survival.  It seemed inevitable that their ministry was over, but God had other plans.  In March 2005 Terry was completely and suddenly healed as members of the church met in their home, and prayed for them with the laying on of hands, anointing them with oil as taught in
James 5:14-15.

WHY FUEGO?
Fuego is Spanish for ‘fire’.
In 1997 Terry & Mo went to Argentina where they spent a month experiencing revival at King of King’s Church in Belgrano, Buenos Aires.  The leaders of the Church, Claudio and Betty Freidzon, would often pray for them saying ‘mas fuego’ (more fire).  This made a big impact on them, and they arrived back with a passion to see the fire of revival break out in the UK.  They have also received a number of prophetic words indicating that they would be carriers of revival fire by training and sending teams to the nations.
